This is the “brain” and “nervous system” of modern engineering, focusing on making systems operate with minimal human intervention.

Control Theory: Linear/non-linear control, feedback loops, PID controllers.
Industrial Controller Hardware: PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), PACs (Programmable Automation Controllers), DCS (Distributed Control Systems).
Sensors & Actuators: Limit switches, encoders, machine vision sensors, hydraulic/pneumatic actuators, electric motors.
SCADA & HMI: Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, Human-Machine Interfaces for monitoring and manual override.
Communication Protocols: Fieldbus, Profibus, EtherCAT, Modbus.
